NEW Arizona Law

Effective Jan. 1, 2009, Arizona Revised Statute (A.R.S.) 28-2354, has been amended to state that

“a person shall maintain each license plate so it is clearly legible and so that

the name of this state at the top of the license plate shall not be obscured.”

If your license plate frame obstructs the name Arizona AT ALL you are subject to a fine which

seems to be ranging between  $110.00 to $200.00 statewide, depending on where you are ticketed.

This is a PRIMARY enforcement, meaning you can be stopped for no other reason

than because your license plate frame does not comply.
